Independent Study Student
Allison was born in New Brunswick and moved to Calgary shortly thereafter. She is currently completing her third year of studies at the University of Calgary, majoring in psychology. Her interest in working with pediatric populations began after taking several courses in developmental psychology and volunteering with children.
As a recipient of a PURE Summer Studentship, Allison will explore pain depictions in popular adolescent media and how they influence narratives of painful experiences. She is fascinated by how pain experiences in childhood can contribute to psychopathology across the lifespan.
In her free time, Allison enjoys being in the mountains, reading, and going to the gym.
